Roundtable with SOEs on Corporate Governance

AmCham Romania, through its Corporate Governance Committee, is pleased to host a new edition of the Roundtable with State-Owned Enterprises on Corporate Governance, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, to take place on May 30, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm at AmCham Romania (11 Ion Câmpineanu Street, Union International Center).

The Roundtable is one of the most appreciated and enduring projects of the AmCham Corporate Governance Committee, spanning 7 years and continuing to strengthen the engagement between our business community and State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) in Romania, to encourage and speed up the transfer of sound corporate governance practices between private businesses and SOEs.

The event is also a great opportunity for representatives of SOEs and members of the AmCham Romania business community to exchange views and insights on practical corporate governance mechanisms and instruments, their implementation, enforcement, monitoring and evaluation, and to identify areas of cooperation with the ultimate goal of fostering a business-led compliance and ethical culture in Romania.

This edition of the Roundtable plays an especially significant role in the context of Romania's accession to OECD and will touch on major topics relevant for the business environment that are included in Romania's technical review of corporate governance by the Organization. The Roundtable is also designed to support SOEs in preparing to implement the necessary reforms and changes on Romania's path to joining the OECD.
