AmCham Romania invites its members to the AmCham Learning & Innovation Workshop offered by KPMG Romania and ARC dealing with „Non-financial reporting between legal requirement and voluntary approach”

Context
At present an increasing number of companies understand the importance of sustainability and responsibility issues and their integration into business development strategies, as well as in the day-to-day activities. Reporting of such non-financial information also represents a growing trend in the business world. This is generally influenced by increasing demands from shareholders, the general public, civil society and the media, while at the same time, in almost 10 European countries (e.g. Finland, Portugal, France, Germany, Denmark, etc) disclosure of some non-financial information is mandatory. Additionally, the European Parliament adopted on 15 April 2014 the Directive on disclosure of non-financial information that will impact large companies and groups with more than 500 employees. This new legislation sets an official framework for transparency of large businesses all over EU.

Who will facilitate the workshop?
Geta Diaconu, Director, KPMG Romania - currently coordinates the KPMG Sustainability Advisory team in Romania and is Leader of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects implemented by KPMG in Romania. With an excellent expertise in the area of sustainability and environmental protection and a career of over 20 years in this area, Geta provides sustainability assistance to KPMG’s national and international clients in the following areas: CSR / Sustainability reporting, GHG reporting, environmental assessments, health and safety audits as well as assurance on sustainability/CSR reporting. Geta is an active member of KPMG’s Climate Change and Sustainability (CC&S) Network and has been involved in KPMG’s international projects in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia and the Netherlands. As the CSR Leader for KPMG, Geta works on questions of CSR strategy and policies development, as well as on projects implementation and CSR performance reporting.

Horia Domnariu – CSR Program Director of Asociatia pentru Relatii Comunitare (ARC). With a solid experience in marketing intelligence, more precisely in market surveys and media audience research, Horia currently leads the responsibility & sustainability consultancy program of ARC, a Romanian non-profit organization that offers solutions for connecting business with society. He believes in and advocates that all companies should turn into responsible citizens, an essential prerequisite for future business success. Horia’ s expertise lies in responsibility and sustainability reporting, strategy development and integration, social impact measurement as well as stakeholder consultation and engagement.
