AmCham Romania Events The Psychological Mechanisms of (Self-)Motivation

The Psychological Mechanisms of (Self-)Motivation

AmCham Romania is pleased to invite members to a new workshop within the AmCham Learning & Innovation Center offered by Valoria Business Solutions on April 4, 2019, between 15:00 and 17:00.

Overview:

Motivation acts as a field of forces (Kurt Lewin) in which both the subject and objects, persons, activities exist. To characterize a component of motivation, the concept of a vector from physics has been used. A vector has size, direction, and meaning. Analog to physical vectors, motivation vectors are characterized by intensity, direction and sense, properties that can be measured by certain psychological methods. The way we modeled in the early years of life the mechanisms of self-motivation is a good starting point for the topic discussed in this course. However, the course will focus on the way managers can recognize the different vectors of motivation in others and work with these to increase engagement in the workplace.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Find out the psychological mechanisms of motivation, how they are formed and to what extent they can be influenced;
  • Know the types of motivation and self-mitigation mechanisms, but also their efficiency;
  • Know yourself and find out what your own motivation mechanisms are;
  • Understand the role that a manager plays in motivating the team;
  • Know what tools you can use to overcome your own bottlenecks or team motivation;
  • Use this knowledge to gain added value for the company in any other area of its responsibilities.
