The AmCham Data Protection Task Force has the pleasure of inviting members to a discussion, with special guest Maciej Gawroński, a lawyer specializing in technology, dispute resolution and regulations, and managing partner of a Warsaw-based law firm GP Partners.

Meet the speaker:
Maciej Gawroński is a Polish lawyer specializing in technology, dispute resolution and regulations, honored in 2021 with the President of the Polish Personal Data Protection Office (PUODO) Award (https://archiwum.uodo.gov.pl/en/618/1218).
Maciej Gawroński edited and coauthored the legal bestseller “RODO. Przewodnik ze wzorami,” which was the number one legal book in Poland for 2018 and 2019. This work was endorsed by PUODO and published in English in 2019 as “Guide to the GDPR” [ https://lrus.wolterskluwer.com/store/product/guide-to-the-gdpr/]. He also edited and coauthored the 2022 number one legal bestseller in Poland, „Jak pisać pisma procesowe i prowadzić komunikację w sporze czyli książeczka o pisaniu pism.” This book was published in English in 2023 as “The Little Book on Drafting Pleadings” [https://a.co/d/h0Ghkts].
Maciej is the managing partner of a Warsaw based law firm GP Partners [gppartners.pl] and previously led a Polish branch of an international law firm Bird & Bird. He is a member of the Scientific Council of Instytut Prawa Ochrony Danych Osobowych (Institute of Data Protection Law) under the auspices of PUODO at Akademia Ekonomiczno-Humanistyczna w Warszawie (University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw).
Maciej has held expert roles with the European Commission on cloud computing contracts, and the Article 29 Working Party on data transfers, contributing ideas to GDPR articles 20, 28.9, 82.1. Maciej is a supporting expert of the European Data Protection Board. He was the leading lawyer of the largest IT implementation project in Poland and many other IT projects and disputes.
Representing Poland in investment arbitrations and advocating for clients in both Polish courts and international arbitral bodies, he's also a recommended arbitrator for the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw.
