The priorities and opportunities that the U.S.- Romania Strategic Partnership holds for both countries were the focus of the Ambassadorial Business Breakfast organized by AmCham Romania on August 30, 2018, attended by the U.S. Ambassador to Romania, HE Hans Klemm and the Romanian Ambassador to the U.S. HE George Maior.

Both the U.S. Ambassador to Romania and the Romanian Ambassador to the U.S. acknowledged the robust bilateral cooperation in the area of military & defense and acknowledged the increasing cooperation that the Strategic Partnership can enable for the two transatlantic partners in terms of trade.

“Romania is a valued partner and ally for the United States, and the excellent cooperation we have on a political and diplomatic level, is being reflected in an increased level of U.S. investments in Romania. A greater U.S. presence in the business sector in Romania is always welcome, and for that, our mission, in collaboration with partners like AmCham, continues to firmly emphasize the need for a favorable, stable and predictable business climate” Ambassador Klemm pointed.

“An ambitious bilateral trade agenda has been the pillar of our ambassadorial mandates, and continued efforts to promote Romania’s investment opportunities are needed. Such initiatives, both public and private, should include on one hand a better communication with investors across the U.S. and, on the other hand, tools to facilitate a direct access for Romanian entrepreneurs to the U.S. market and business community”, Ambassador Maior stated.

The heads of the two diplomatic missions reaffirmed the mutual, strong commitment that the U.S. and Romania are demonstrating in actions towards the transatlantic relations and agenda.

AmCham Romania, along with peer organizations in the AmChams in Europe network, is a strong advocate for increased transatlantic trade and is committed to support Romania’s efforts to raise its share in the commercial exchanges between the most important global trading partners.
