Sustainability is a key topic for businesses that aim to be competitive but at the same time responsible towards the environment and the society and which they operate.
Our study, Sustainability in 3D released early this year, found support for the claim that AmCham member companies contribute decisively to the effort of addressing societal, environmental and economic problems faced by Romanian society. Due to the limitations of the study, it offered a mere glimpse of the size and scale of the influence exerted by AmCham member companies, nonetheless illustrating both with numbers and stories the way companies contribute to the Romanian economy, care for our environment and get involved in the communities in which they operate.
Based on the results of the study, and the desire expressed by those present at our launch event in May, there is a need for ongoing discussions about various aspects of corporate social responsibility. We at AmCham, together with our community partner, ARC Romania, would like to initiate a series of meaningful discussions on sustainability topics.
These discussions will cover a range of topics from community investments to responsible business practices, but also more delicate but equally pressing issues such as carbon footprint reduction, safeguarding human rights within companies and their supply chain.
