AmCham Romania Joins AmChams in Europe Delegation to Reiterate the Importance of the Transatlantic Economy

AmCham Romania Executive Director Anca Harasim is part of the European AmChams Delegation to the U.S. that this year included an extensive program of meetings with representatives of the U.S. Administration, on top of the annual briefing provided by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.



The delegation me the White House National Security Council, US Department of Commerce, US Department of State and US Trade Representative, a lunch hosted by Congressman Joe Wilson (R-NY), co-Chair of the EU Caucus, with Congressmen Dan Donovan (R-NY) and Francis Rooney (R-FL) and a meeting with senior members of Senator Orrin Hatch’s team (R-UT), Chair, Senate Committee on Finance.




The agenda also included a meeting with H.E. David O’Sullivan, EU Ambassador to the US and participated in a press roundtable on EU-US relations with Jon Decker, White House Correspondent, Fox News Radio, and Shawn Donnan, World Trade Editor, Financial Times.


On April 16, members of the delegation representing AmCham EU, AmCham France, AmCham Ireland, AmCham Sweeden, AmCham Italy and AmCham Romania attended the Transatlantic Business Works conference hosted by the U.S. Chamber.
The conference highlighted the benefits of the world's largest bilateral trade and investment relationship--between the U.S. and the European Union and aimed to identify ways to strengthen transatlantic commercial ties. Speakers included leading U.S. and EU policymakers and senior executives from major U.S. and European-headquartered companies.

For the second part of the visit, the European AmChams delegation will be in Chicago, mostly engaging in visiting the U.S. headquarters of member companies.
