AmCham Organized the 3rd Edition of the Competition in public procurement conference - COMPETITIVE RISKS AND PRACTICAL REMEDIES

by AmCham Romania November 29, 2019

AmCham Romania emphasized the competition risks in public procurement in the 3rd edition of the Competition in public procurement conference organized on November 27, 2019, with the support of the Romanian Competition Council, when the practical remedial solutions were discussed by specialists from the private sector and representatives of the regulatory and supervisory institutions in the field.

Presentations during the conference warned of potential pitfalls in the procurement process of IT and medical equipment, pointed out the competition risks in sectors impacting the national security, as well as addressed the risk of exclusion from an auction as a consequence of a sanction for infringement of the competition law along with the self-cleaning measures by which a potential exclusion can be prevented.

The Competition in public procurement conference - COMPETITIVE RISKS AND PRACTICAL REMEDIES is part of the AmCham Romania actions to facilitate an open dialogue between decision makers and the business environment and best-practices and know-how exchanges that will eventually be reflected in an increased quality of the regulatory framework and of the compliance level in the market.

The 2019 edition has benefited from the valuable support of active members in the AmCham Romania Competition and Public Procurement Committee, as follows: Clifford Chance Badea, DLA Piper, Mușat & Asociații, Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen and Zamfirescu Racoti Vasile & Partners.

The main conclusions of the conference presentations and discussions are included in the attached outline (RO).
