AmCham Concludes Its 6 Month CDR Coordination and Secretariat Mandate. CDR Resumes Dialogue with the Romanian Government

by AmCham Romania December 16, 2019

The December 13 plenary meeting of Coaliția pentru Dezvoltarea României (CDR) concluded AmCham’s 6-month coordination and secretariat mandate.

On this occasion, CDR and Prime-Minister Ludovic Orban signed a joint statement outlining the CDR priorities to lead the dialogue with the Romanian Government. The joint statement confirms the strong commitment on both sides to contribute to consolidating the public-private dialogue and transparency in decision-making.

The leading priorities that CDR will pursue in its dialogue with the Romanian Government are: predictability of the reglementation framework impacting the business environment, reducing labor market imbalances, increasing the quality of the education system, social dialogue, simplifying the interaction with public administration, improving infrastructure and Romania’s better cohesion with the European Union.

AmCham was represented in the CDR plenary panel by President Ionuț Simion, who underlined the business community call for measures and public investments to improve the infrastructure in key areas such as transportation, education and healthcare, while Vice-President Radu Florescu acknowledged Prime-Minister Orban for the new Government’s willing for dialogue with the business community.
