On Monday, September 8, starting with 9.00 a.m. AmCham Romania will host a presentation of Prof. Adrian Curaj regarding Romania’s strategy on research, development & innovation with the objective to strengthen and develop the capability of Romanian research teams to initiate, access and implement programs in advanced science domains with national/international funding, including structural funds. The presentation precedes the two days conference organized by the the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the National Authority for Scientific Research and the Romanian Academy in mid-September, in their effort to extend the dialogue and cooperation between researchers in Romania and those from the Romanian Diaspora who are recognized leaders in their areas of expertise.
AmCham Members are invited to learn more about the strategy which has been proposed by the Romanian authorities in which they can take an active role, as well as to find out ways in which the business community could be involved in the September conference which will bring top level experts around the table.
The „Diaspora in Romanian Scientific Research” Conference will be held in Bucharest between September 17-19 , 2008 and will be dedicated to a series of 21 exploratory workshops (about 600 participants) with selected topics from various domains (e.g. chemistry, physics, mathematics, engineering, socio-human and economic sciences, biology, environmental science, medicine, biotechnology, arts and architecture), in which Romanian scientific potential and expertise exist. The exploratory workshops will be held in different locations (universities, research institutes or the Romanian Academy), depending on the specific organizing institution involved.
The presentation for AmCham members will be delivered by Prof. Adrian Curaj, State Counselor and Vice-Chairman of the National University Research Council, and will be held at the AmCham Office.
