Members of the the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania) are invited to the "Market Definition and Assessment” Roundtable (Repere in analiza de piata) to be held on September 9, 2008. The event will bring together representatives of the Competition Council, market research companies and the National Institute of Statistics.
The roundtable, an interactive event, will be an opportunity to exchange information on the principles and techniques of performing market analysis, allowing companies to have a better understanding of the approach of the Competition Council when investigating economic concentrations, as well as agreements or practices falling within the scope of Competition Law no. 21/1996.
It will also offer an insight into the models and methodologies of market data collection from companies specialized in market research and from the National Institute of Statistics.
The presentations and the discussions will aim to answer the following questions:
1. What market data are available and accessible to all market players?
2. How are statistical data collected and how do they become transparent and public?
3. What is the level of accuracy of the estimations regarding the size of various markets and market shares of different players?
4. How can such estimations become more accurate?
Presentations and discussions will be held in Romanian.
Participation is restricted to AmCham Members and must be confirmed in advance by Friday, September 5, by e-mail at amcham@amcham.ro or online. Only registered participants will be allowed access per US Embassy's security rules.
