-The American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania) is pleased to invite you to a Business Breakfast with Mr. Juan Jose Fernandez-Ansola, Senior Regional Representative of the International Monetary Fund for Romania and Bulgaria.
The discussion topics:
- Comments on the Regional Economic Outlook released by IMF;
- Policy recommendations and directions on which the government officials could focus in the next months;
- Viewpoints on labor, banking and finance, and on certified professionals (Persoane Fizice Autorizate) legislation in Romania.
Juan José Fernández-Ansola, an Argentine citizen, is the IMF's senior regional representative since September 2006. He has been at the IMF since 1991, and, in increasingly senior positions, has extensive experience in the countries of the region. His previous assignment was as Division Chief of one of the Central European Divisions. Over the period 1999-2006 he has been the mission chief for Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, and Slovenia. Prior to this, he was an economist in the Western Hemisphere and Policy Development and Review departments at the IMF. His undergraduate degree is from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and has a master's degree from Yale University, USA, and a doctorate from Boston University, USA, both in economics. His economic research interests have included debt and bond market issues, capital flows, and recently credit growth, technological progress and competitiveness, and inflation in central and eastern European countries.
