AmCham Romania is pleased to invite its members to a Business Breakfast Exchange with Mr. Francois Rantrua, Country Manager, World Bank Romania and Ms. Ana-Maria Mihaescu, Head of IFC Romania on Priorities for Romania and the Necessary Reforms for a Competitive Business Environment in Romania. The event has been rescheduled for June 23 to allow for more input from the World Bank.

As AmCham is pursuing a stronger collaboration with the World Bank Office in Romania, this time we have invited Mr. Rantrua and his team to an exchange session where we seek to compare agendas and seek areas for synergies with a concrete impact to the business environment in Romania.
Being a first meeting with the AmCham members after his appointment as Head of the Romanian Office, we have invited Mr. Rantrua to also outline the World Bank’s current priorities in Romania, as well as specific areas for intervention in the context of the EU Strategy 2020.

The event outline is as follows:

1. Country priorities and the role of the World Bank and IFC (presentation by Francois Rantrua and Ana Maria Mihaescu)
2. Obstacles to doing business in Romania (presentation by Catalin Pauna of the conclusions of the Doing Business 2010)
3. The Bank and IFC support in Agriculture and Health (more detailed presentations, by the respective sector staff, of our engagement in the two sectors)
4. The way forward -- exploring avenues for collaboration and mutual support between the World Bank and AmCham Romania
