Winners of the 2007 Edition of the People for People Gala
People for Peoplen Gala, the event that rewards the social involvement of companies and individuals has awarded the winners of the fifth edition.
People for People Gala is part of the program for promoting corporate social responsibility practices developed by the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania and the Association for Community Relation, under the High Patronage of the Romanian Presidency. This year’s event was supported by: Vodafone Romania, as unique partner, BRD Groupe Societe Generale as Sponsor, CEE Trust as institutional financer. Media Partners: TVR, The Money Channel, Money Express, Business Standard, immromania.ro and TEA Communication. The event was hosted by the Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel.
120 projects have been submitted to the People for People Contest, with a total value exceeding 10 mil EUR, and the winners of the 2007 edition are the following:
Sponsorships and donations in kind of companies with more than 250 employees: Lafarge Romcim for supporting “Eurohabitat 2007” and Philip Moris for the scholarships “Niște Țărani”
Sponsorships and donations in kind of companies with less than 250 employees: SofMedica
Donations and contributions of individuals: Camelia Șucu
Fundraising Programs run by nonprofit, apolitical organizations : “2% pentru Odorhei”
Coordinators of fundraising campaigns for the benefit of nonprofit, apolitical organizations: Mario Demezzo
Community Programs: Petrom - “Parcurile viitorului”
Corporate volunteering programs: Raiffeisen Bank and British American Tobacco for the programme run by United Way
Public volunteer programs: Fundația pentru Sprijin Comunitar “Volunteer for Rural Communities”
Mass media reflection of social involvement: HNC – The Advertising Supermarket
Employees’ involvement in community initiatives developed by companies: Ana Gogan, UPC
Special Awards:
• The program of the year : EuroHabitat 2007 of Habitat for Humanity
• The award for promoting good business practices: PricewaterhouseCoopers, for offering free audit services to non-governmental organizations.
• The award for creativity and innovation: MediaOrg for “Copacul de Hârtie”
