AmCham is pleased to invite its members to a seminar on Customs Inspections to be held on December 10, 2009. The presentation will be delivered by Daniel Anghel, Partner - Indirect Taxes and Valentin Durigu, Senior Manager - Customs and International Trade, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The event is meant to assist you in identifying the challenges related to intensified customs inspections, initiated by the customs authorities in the last months to increase budgetary collection.
The presentation will include an overview of both “pitfalls” and certain (insufficiently known and implemented) opportunities in the customs duties field.
Moreover, the presentation will comprise a summary of main modifications to be enforced in the coming years in the customs legislation and practice. Thus, the Modernised Customs Code was already published and its provisions will be gradually implemented - i.e. by June 2013 at the latest. By then both the customs authorities and the companies are supposed to undertake specific steps and actions, so to be prepared for implementation of e-customs.
