The Vodafone Romania Foundation has launched the second edition of the Rural Investments Strategic Program. A follow-up to the 2015-2016 edition, the program supports the education and social services necessary for the disadvantaged categories in the Romanian villages and small cities.

“The reduced access to education and social services is among the most common issues we find in the rural environment. According to statistics, 20% of the children in the rural environment do not finish the gymnasium. More than that, only 50% of them continue their studies and attend a high-school. We must continue to be involved in programs that generate social and economic progress in communities, to bring children to school, to educate them in order for them to get the chance for a better future and to become active members of a healthy society,” said Angela Galeta, Director, The Vodafone Romania Foundation.

The Vodafone Romania Foundation has selected five strategic partners to develop the projects in all of Romania’s 41 counties. The amount invested by the Foundation is of 456,000 euro.
