"Germany is the largest economy in Europe and a critically important market for our clients around the world," said Joe Andrew, Global Chairman. "As Germany’s third largest city, driving much of the country’s economic activity and serving as a hub for cross-border deals within Europe, Munich has been a clear growth priority to place us in the best position to meet clients' needs."

Elliott Portnoy, Global Chief Executive Officer, noted, "The opening of our Munich office is just one in a series of strategic growth initiatives in the Europe Region made possible under Tomasz Dabrowski’s leadership. The Firm has attracted significant talent in every region over the past year, but Europe has been a particular standout and these important hires show that the momentum continues."

Andreas Ziegenhagen, Germany Managing Partner, added: “Our established practice in Germany has been hugely successful in driving organic growth. Launching a new office in Munich is a major step forward in our strategy. Moreover, Alexander von Bergwelt is a great addition to our German leadership team.”

Alexander von Bergwelt commented, “When hearing about the development of Dentons worldwide, I was very much attracted to the Firm’s polycentric model and ambitious strategy. I look forward to working with the German team to build a market-leading office in Munich.”
