Lucian Bondoc and global law firm White & Case LLP have announced the launch of an exclusive alliance in Romania which takes effect from 1 February 2014.

From that date Lucian takes over the current participation of White & Case in the existing local partnership, White & Case Pachiu, with the new Romanian firm operating under the name Bondoc & Asociatii SCA.

Lucian said: “The Romanian partnership has achieved healthy growth in recent years and the new relationship with White & Case will support the continued development and growth of Bondoc & Asociatii while ensuring the ongoing delivery of the high quality legal services our clients expect.”

Partner Oliver Brettle, a member of the White & Case Executive Committee, said: “White & Case remains strongly committed to its clients and on-the-ground presence across Central & Eastern Europe. The new arrangement in Bucharest is an approach that is common in global law firms and will have no effect on the services provided to clients in Romania, the wider CEE region or elsewhere. We look forward to continuing working with Lucian and his colleagues under the alliance.”

Bucharest partner Delia Pachiu has decided to take a career break and is not joining Lucian at Bondoc & Asociatii after she ceases to be a partner at White & Case. Lucian said: “Delia’s intention was known to me for some time; I respect her decision and thank Delia for her contribution to the success of the Bucharest partnership to date and wish her every success in her future endeavours.”
