On 5 December, GSK Romania launched the second edition of GSK Romania’s Corporate Responsibility (CR) Report entitled “Valuing your trust”, showcasing our transparency efforts in Romania. The report describes our contribution on the local market, our values and how we guide our activity, sustaining our mission to increase life expectancy and improve the quality of life in Romania. The report includes information on the four GSK Romania divisions: pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare, distribution and manufacturing.

For the second year in a row, our Report is the only document of its kind on the pharmaceutical market in Romania and the first Sustainability Report within GSK Europe conducted in accordance with the requirements of “Global Reporting Initiative G4”, the highest standard in this area. The report covers the four GSK Romania key areas of interest: Health for all, Our people, Our Behavior and Our Planet.

This report also represents the first analysis conducted in consultation with local partners - authorities, physicians, professional associations, NGOs, patient associations and media representatives, in order to find out firsthand what are the most relevant issues that the report should cover and also what would help advance trust in the pharma industry in general and GSK in particular.
Some of the highlights of the report that reflect how we understood to operate responsibly, ethically and transparently:
• GSK products reached 20 million Romanian consumers and patients
• We supplied innovative medicines and vaccines in 13 therapeutical areas and we delivered life-saving drugs to over 5,500 hospitals and pharmacies every month
• Our employees invested 9,316 hours volunteering in local communities, to help our communities do more, feel better and live longer
• As part of our "Health for all" approach, we launched a new direct-to-pharmacy distribution model to increase availability of key medicines, developed new ways of working to support physicians, worked with the Foreign Investors Council to help retain doctors in Romania, advanced oral healthcare through “Smiling Romania” campaign, advanced prevention with the Pediatric Society in “Let’s protect childhood” project, promoted creative campaigns to support those suffering from HIV and lupus, and much more.
