EY registered a significant positive evolution in the Trendence 2013 study which evaluates and ranks the most attractive employer brands at national and European level. If in Europe, EY climbs 1 spot positioning itself on the 3rd place, in Romania, the audit and consulting company climbed 17 positions this year, ranking 11th in the national top.

Through the recruitment programs conducted last year, the educational projects developed in partnership with universities, students associations and business associations, the company has positioned itself as one of the most attractive employers in Romania. EY has also expanded last year its teams from the regional offices in Timisoara, Cluj and Iasi, reaching for the first time the threshold of 500 employees in Romania and Moldova.

Regarding the overall ranking, it is important to mention that the first part of the Romanian top 10 is dominated by the largest banks on the local market. Only in the second half of the top 10, famous employer brands that are hunted by graduates all over the world, such as Google, Coca-Cola, and Procter & Gamble can be found. Graduates preferences are further nuanced for those with exceptional academic results and who are actively involved in extra-curricular projects. EY is, therefore, the third most popular employer preferred by top 20% students, after Google and the European Commission. 12% of these Romanian top achievers, will most likely apply for a first job at EY.

„EY supports performance and excellence, and one of our recruitment strategy objectives is to attract the most talented and ambitious graduates on the market. The projects we undertake in universities, the workshops, presentations and internships we offer are concrete and targeted actions through which we come to meet the high-achieving students, and through which we recruit future leaders. For example, graduates who join EY each year undergo a series of international training programs, thorugh which they participate in specialized competitions and constantly occupy top positions in the global rankings. These are exceptional performances that confirm the valuable potential we cultivate locally, while committing to the continuous talent education and to calibrate expectations of the young generation," explains Alexandra Bebu, HR Director, EY Romania.

Furthermore, this year EY positioned itself ahead of its Big 4 competitors, being perceived by participants in the sudy as the company that employs the highest number graduates out of the 4 players, with the best recruitment web-site and the strongest presence in recruitment fairs. Also, EY is among the top 10 most active companies in large university campuses accross the country.

„The evolution of our employer brand is the result of years when we have developed and implemented local policies and strategies that are centered on people and their development needs. The most important thing that we have pursued and achieved not only in Romania, but all over the world, is developing new generations of business leaders. And this is what Building a better working world means to us. For example, the EY Alumni community in Romania includes over 1,000 members – they are among those who drive today's most powerful companies on the market and who inspire entire generations of professionals. The Trendence evaluation reflects this complex process that starts from the first meeting with EY in high school or university and goes until the recognition that we bring to our Partners, to successful entrepreneurs and business leaders across the country,” Bogdan Ion, Country Managing Partner, EY Romania.

The Trendence Graduate Barometer is one of the most extensive and comprehensive studies of trends in recruitment and employer branding in Europe and locally, in Romania. More than 300,000 students in 1,000 European universities participated in this year's survey. In Romania, Trendence Business Edition interviewed 3,389 students from 28 universities across the country. The Barometer presents a true picture of the perceptions and expectations of students who are preparing to enter the labor market regardinf their career and potential employers.
