Registration is open until July 15,  and results will be announced in October

Deloitte Central Europe launched the registration session for the Technology FAST 50, an annual competition which recognises and ranks the fastest-growing technology companies in the region. Registration for this high-profile regional and industry awards competition is open until July 15.

Deloitte Central Europe Technology FAST 50, now in its 14th edition, ranks the fastest growing technology companies in the region, based on the growth rate of the revenues they have experienced over the last five years (2008 – 2012). Entrants must also own intellectual property that significantly contributes to the company's operating revenues; or they must devote a significant portion of revenues to research and development of technology.

“Romania joined the competition in 2008 and has been improving its representation ever since, from 6% (with three companies) to 12% today. Last year’s edition marked historical results for the local industry,” Ahmed Hassan, Managing Partner Deloitte Romania said. “One of the Romanian companied ranked first for the second year in a row, and another one made a debut in the Big 5 category, a first for the industry overall. Moreover, with an average growth rate of 3,408%, Romania was well above the ranking average growth and went up as the third country in the region, after Poland and Hungary.”

The full list of Romanian finalists in 2012 included Vola.ro S.R.L. (1st place, headquartered in Bucharest, with a 17,323% growth of revenues for the 2007-2011 period), SmartTel S.A. (ranked 14, from Bucharest, +894%), TeamNet International S.A. (ranked 16, Bucharest, +870%), Crys Computers S.R.L. (25, Bucharest, +597%), Accesa (ranked 28, Cluj-Napoca, +501%) and Ingenio Software S.R.L. (ranked 43, Bucharest, +264%).

The Deloitte Central European FAST 50 ranks companies from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lithuania.

The program also looks into Rising Stars (a category for young companies that show great potential but are yet new to meet the minimum of five years in operation criteria for the main category). Eligible companies must be in operation between three and five years and have to exceed revenues of 30,000 Euro in each of the last three years (2010 – 2012). Otherwise the same criteria apply as for the main FAST 50 ranking.

Separately, the Big 5 category ranks large fast-growing companies that have achieved extraordinary growth in the previous five years. To be eligible, companies must meet the same criteria as the main FAST 50 ranking with the exception of annual revenue in the final measured year (2012), which must exceed 25 million Euro for this category.

Online registration and eligibility criteria can be found on the regional Technology FAST 50 website, www.deloitte.com/fast50ce. As in previous years, finalists will be entered automatically into the wider competition known as the Deloitte EMEA Technology FAST 500.
