Ernst & Young Romania announces its affiliation to the international program Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY), developed by the company world-wide. Starting with 2014, Ernst & Young provides the opportunity for entrepreneurs in Romania to participate in the largest and most prestigious global business project dedicated to entrepreneurs.

The Entrepreneur Of The Year program was launched by Ernst & Young in the United States in 1986 and since 1993 it has expanded internationally. Currently EOY takes place in over 50 countries.
EOY awards the most successful and innovative entrepreneurs in the world. By highlighting and recognizing the results of successful business entrepreneurs, Ernst & Young aims to encourage entrepreneurship development around the world.
The World Entrepreneur Of The Year title will be announced at an award ceremony held every year in Monte Carlo. This year, The World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award – reaching its 13th edition – will run from 5 to 9 June.
The event gathers entrepreneurs selected from each of the 50 countries included in the program. Candidates are assessed by an international jury consisting of EOY title holders from previous years and business leaders from around the world, through interviews and case studies developed by each participating country team. The winner of the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award is announced during a gala ceremony.
For selecting the winner, judges examine each application on the basis of six criteria, which are defined in order to allow all country winners an equal opportunity to compete. These criteria are: entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, strategic direction, innovation, global impact and personal integrity/influence.
Entrepreneurs who have changed the paradigm of industries they operate in and who have set new standards are among the winners of the World Entrepreneur Of The Year award in previous years. These include Guy Laliberté, founder and CEO of Cirque du Soleil – considered the initiator of a new business model that has revolutionized the circus industry – or Wayne Huizenga, Chairman of Huizenga Holdings Inc, known as the only person in corporate history to be responsible for six companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange and to have founded three Fortune 500 companies.
EOY title holders are managing business generating an average income of about $ 1 billion and have an average growth rate of over 17% per year.
