Salans has advised GDF SUEZ Energy România on the acquisition of its first wind energy project in Romania, located in Gemenele commune, Braila county.
The project required expertise in numerous sectors – energy, M&A and real estate – including the regulation aspects related to the above-mentioned practice areas.
In this respect, Salans assisted in connection with drafting and negotiation of various agreements, amongst which the most important are the sale-purchase agreement of the project company and the purchase agreement for wind turbines.
“The entry of an important player such as GDF SUEZ Energy România on the local wind energy market demonstrates the fact that renewable energy continues to be of interest for strategic investors, as well as their commitment to promote the green energy.” says Anda Todor, Managing Partner, Salans.
Salans’ team was coordinated by Claudiu Munteanu-Jipescu, Partner and Head of the Energy Practice Group and included Bogdan Papandopol, Octav Stan and Mădălina Trifan.
Salans is market leader in the energy sector, especially in renewable energy, being one of the first law firms to have advised in connection with the development of wind energy projects. Salans’ portfolio includes, among others, the Cogealac-Fântânele wind farm, which was purchased by CEZ from Continental Wind Partners investment fund, as well as projects developed by Monsson Alma, one of the most important wind farm developers on the local market.
