Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP) announced that three of the firm’s attorneys have been promoted to the position of Senior Associate: Mirela Gabriela Preda (Mergers and Acquisitions), Cătălin Radbâță (Dispute Resolution) and Lucian Vițelaru (Real Estate).
The promotions occurred pursuant to the professional evaluations conducted at the end of last year. The three lawyers distinguished themselves throughout the past years by their exceptional professional skills, their ability to manage highly complex projects and by demonstrating their abilities as team players during their involvement in some of the law firm’s most significant projects during this period.
Mirela Gabriela Preda has been involved in the following recent projects: legal assistance to Chartis România (former AIG România) with respect to the implementation of the transfer of an insurance portfolio to an entity of the Chartis group; advice to the consortium selected for the secondary public offer made within Transelectrica; legal assistance to a Spanish producer of renewable energy generators and wind turbines with respect to issues related to the legislation concerning the production of electricity from renewable sources.
Among the recent cases in which Cătălin Radbâță has been involved there can be mentioned the legal assistance provided to Bonhay Investments Limited, a UK financial company, for the recovery of a debt of over five million EUR, as well as the legal assistance provided to Bechtel International Inc. in several commercial arbitrations. Cătălin also successfully represented Gaitano Company in a dispute with the holder of the Raffaello trademark.
During the past year Lucian Vițelaru has provided legal assistance to some of the most active players on the real estate market, such as Deutsche Bank Group, Bluehouse Capital, Globe Trade Center, ING PFCEE Holding, Chayton Capital, both in projects involving new real estate acquisitions and in the development of the real estate projects in progress.

About the new Senior Associates:
Mirela Gabriela Preda specializes in the fields of energy, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, as well as in insurance law. Mirela’s expertise is focused on renewable energy/ electricity, as well as oil and mineral resources sectors. Mirela has acquired experience in a wide range of projects in connection with drafting, analyzing and implementing the farm-out agreements and other contracts specific to the oil and mineral resources industry (concession contracts, contracts of ancillary services in the field). She also advised clients in investment projects in the renewable and conventional energy field (through the implementation of certain joint venture associations or by other methods).
Mirela graduated from the University of Bucharest Law School and holds a Master’s degree in EU commercial law from Leicester University (UK).
Cătălin Radbâță’s activity focuses mainly on cross border litigations and international commercial arbitration. He has acquired significant experience with respect to practical procedural aspects related to summoning procedures abroad, ensuring and producing evidence in other jurisdictions, as well as with the recognition and enforcement of court decisions and arbitration awards in Romania. Cătălin provides legal assistance in disputes related to retail and residential construction agreements, infrastructure, international transportation contracts, as well as the enforcement of security interests or personal guarantees related to such agreements. In addition to litigation proceedings, Cătălin manages a high number of negotiations, discussions and amicable conciliations on behalf of his clients.
Cătălin graduated from the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca Law School and holds a Master’s degree in American law and international legal practice from the Loyola University in Los Angeles (USA). He is also a certified interpreter and translator of English, Italian and French.
Lucian Vițelaru has been involved in some of the most significant real estate transactions to have taken place on the market during the past five years and provided legal assistance in the subsequent stages of such projects, covering both the retail and office segments.
Lucian is also experienced in advising clients in connection with various issues related to the real estate field, such as the rights over the lands and the authorization procedures in renewable energy projects, as well as in mining exploitation projects. Additionally, Lucian has been constantly involved in real estate projects covering the entire range of specific legal activities, including the due diligence analysis for the acquisition, drafting and negotiation of legal documents, civil and commercial law analyses, etc.
Lucian graduated from the University of Bucharest Law School and holds a Master’s degree in business law.
