The roundtable organized by Andra Musatescu Law & Industrial Property Offices reached at its 4-th edition

The roundtable organized by Andra Musatescu Law & Industrial Property Offices under the aegis of International Trademark Association (INTA) reached at its 4-th edition. The roundtable of this year took place at 10.00 am on November 2, 2011 at the State Office for Invention and Trademarks, Str. Ion Ghica, Nr. 5, Sect. 3, Bucharest, Romania.
The event is now well-established and waited by all members of the IP community in Romania.
This year’s list of speakers included: a Judge at the Court of Appeal of Bucharest, the Head of the Appeal Department and Chair of the Appeals Commission within the Romanian State Office for Patents and Trademarks, the Head of the Direction for Supervising of Customs Operations – Office for Protection of Intellectual Property Rights within the Romanian Customs and Chief-Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court of Romania.
As examples, Ms. Monica Pop, Chief-Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court of Romania mentioned that there is already a compiled ‘Anti-Piracy Guide’ and that an ‘Anti-Counterfeiting Guide’ is to be assembled and Mr. Petre Ohan the Head of the Appeal Department and Chair of the Appeals Commission within the Romanian State Office for Patents and Trademarks talked about the legal ‘exceptions’ raised in front of the Appeals Commission after the new trademark legislation entered in force.
Mr. Nicolae Muresan, Partner within Andra Musatescu Law & Industrial Property Offices was also a lecturer at the event.
Dr. Andra Musatescu, “an IP expert of ‘the absolutely highest standard’” (Legal 5009) and “‘a fantastic lawyer” (Chambers and Partners), was moderating the debates.
The participants at the roundtable were well-known names in the IP world, being, inter alia: judges, attorneys-at-law, trademark-attorneys, customs officers, head of divisions and examiners from the State Office for Patent and Trademarks, prosecutors, industry representatives.
The roundtable is always very well received and has a good impact on the participants.
