This week the Romanian office of the international law firm, CMS Cameron McKenna, announced a partnership with Hospice Casa Sperantei, a non-governmental charitable organization dedicated to providing treatment and support for those with incurable diseases in Romania.
The two organisations celebrated this new partnership officially on Wednesday October 5th, with a unique champagne reception in the iconic Cantacuzino Palace on Calea Victorei. The select group of guests from the Bucharest diplomatic and business community – including the Canadian and British Ambassadors in Romania – enjoyed various musical entertainment throughout the course of the evening, including solos performed by tenor at the Romanian National Opera, Liviu Sandu, as well as performances by Sergiu Marin (cello) and Cristian René Popescu (violin).
CMS Cameron McKenna in Romania has become a founder member of Hospice Casa Sperantei’s Bucharest Hospice and as such has committed to supporting the organisation not just financially but also through pro bono work, fundraising and volunteering.
His Excellency, Mr. Martin Harris, UK Ambassador in Romania commented, “I am deeply impressed with the recognition shown by CMS Cameron McKenna and the business community to the vital activity developed by Hospice Casa Sperantei”.
“We are honoured to support this pioneering organisation. The work that Hospice Casa Sperantei does is much needed and what they have achieved so far is remarkable. We stand proudly as partners today and look forward to collaborating closely with Hospice Casa Sperantei in the future,” explained Gabriel Sidere, Managing Partner of CMS Cameron McKenna in Romania.
Hospice Casa Sperantei has been pioneering hospice care in Romania since 1992 and is the leading provider of hospice services in the country. Since its inception it has provided free of charge specialist palliative care to over 12,000 children and adults suffering from terminal or life-limiting illnesses.
The vision of Hospice Casa Sperantei is that everyone in Romania facing incurable illness, and their families, should have free access to specialised palliative care services in advanced and terminal stages, at the appropriate time and wherever they request.
“We are extremely grateful to CMS Cameron McKenna. This partnership is very important to us and enables us to get even closer to our objective – that of providing all people with incurable diseases and their families in Romania with free access to the specialised palliative care they need so much”, said Graham Perolls, Founder and President of Hospice Casa Sperantei.
