Bucharest, February 2nd, 2010 - Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP) announces today the anniversary of twenty years of client representation in some of the most significant transactions to have taken place in Romania.

During this period, NNDKP became one of the largest and most respected law firms in Romania, providing its full and integrated services both to domestic and foreign companies, through its offices in Bucharest, Timiºoara and Braºov. At present, the firm’s activity covers 14 practice areas: Corporate Law; Mergers and Acquisitions; Competition Law; Banking and Finance; Real Estate; Dispute Resolution; Infrastructure and PPP; Commercial Contracts and Public Procurement; Capital Markets; Intellectual Property and Pharmaceuticals; Labor Law; Immigration Law; Environmental Law; Taxes and Tax Law.

Over the past eight years, NNDKP obtained many recognitions and distinctions from the most reputed international specialized publications, which constantly ranked the firm as first in all practice areas researched in Romania.

Founded in 1990 by Ion Nestor and Manuela Nestor and further developed, starting in 1995, with the arrival of Andrew Kingston and Patricia Petersen, as a partnership between reputed Romanian and American lawyers with outstanding professional training, NNDKP was recognized as the domestic law firm combining at the highest level international standards for performance of legal services and deep insight into the local legal environment. Moreover, the firm’s contribution to the development of the profession is emblematic, as NNDKP both assumes and is recognized for its major role in both training and preparing sophisticated business lawyers and in promoting fundamental ethical values throughout its entire activity.

“The firm marked the Romanian business environment, especially through the participation of our lawyers in the largest projects that took place during the period of transition to the market economy, thus becoming a benchmark for the entire legal market, due to the quality of the services provided, the expertise obtained along these twenty years, the model adopted for its development and evolution, the successful management of relationships with partners and clients, and, last, but not least, due to the trends it created on a continuously developing market”, explains Ion Nestor, Managing Partner and co-founder of NNDKP.

In 2001, the merger with the law firm of Ana Diculescu-ªova, recognized as one of the leading voices in advocacy, marked another turning point in NNDKP’s development, bringing an essential component, which completed its internal professional structure – the dispute resolution and arbitration department.

“The association with NNDKP embodies the passion for the legal profession in a very demanding context, spectacular in its challenges and harmonious in the quality of its people. Together with a team of very talented lawyers we built and argued hundreds of cases, we generated significant legal debates and jurisprudential solutions. Throughout the years, many of these layers perfected their skills within NNDKP and today they are among the best litigators in Romania ", states Ana Diculescu-ªova, Senior Partner with NNDKP.

Until 2008, there was an emphasis placed on the accelerated growth of the firm, from all perspectives (human resources, projects, recognition). During this time, the firm built its team and significantly invested in the recruitment, training and the specialization of each and every one of its lawyers. Starting with 2008, a period of consolidation followed, where the firm focused mainly on team organization, human resources retention and perfecting its internal processes and procedures. During this period, NNDKP also engaged in a process of strategic restructuring of the organization’s brand, intended to reflect the team’s continuous evolution and its gradual transformation from a “family” style law firm to a complex “corporate” style firm.

During the last decade, the firm’s revenues have experienced a spectacular growth, increasing from 2.2 million EUR in 2000 to 6.9 million EUR in 2005 to14.8 million EUR in 2008. In 2009, the cumulated revenues of the firm, together with that of its specialized tax and intellectual property departments, reached 16 million EUR. At the same time, NNDKP constantly increased the time and financial resources dedicated to charity and pro bono professional projects.

With respect to its members, the firm had 29 lawyers in 2000; in 2005 their number increased to 53. The firm presently has 115 lawyers (of which 9 equity partners, 6 remunerated partners, 5 managing associates and 22 senior associates) and a support staff of 75 employees. Throughout the years, the firm successively changed its headquarters to 6 offices, occupying at present 3,500 square meters in Bucharest Business Park.

The campaign “20 Years of Achievement” will mark this anniversary throughout the year 2010 and will include an event dedicated to the firm’s clients and collaborators.

Benchmarks in the firm’s evolution:

1990: In February, Ion and Manuela Nestor lay the foundations of the legal consultancy firm that subsequently became Nestor & Nestor.

1992: The business consultancy firm Kingston & Petersen is established.

1995: Nestor & Nestor merges with Kingston & Petersen, creating Nestor Nestor Kingston Petersen.

1999: The Law Firm of Nestor Nestor Kingston Petersen becomes exclusive member for Romania of Lex Mundi, the largest and most reputed international organization of independent law firms.

2001: The Law Firm of Nestor Nestor Kingston Petersen merges with the Law Firm of Ana Diculescu-ªova. Following this merger, the firm’s name changes to Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP).

2002: NNDKP becomes the exclusive member for Romania of World Services Group, the largest international association, integrating worldwide providers of professional services.

2003: NNDKP becomes co-founder of the organization The South East Europe Legal Group (SEE Legal), an organization integrating the most reputed independent law firms in the South-East Europe.

NNDKP Intellectual Property Services is established, a specialized department affiliated with the law firm.

2004: NNDKP is the first law firm in Romania to organize a summer school for law school students. This successful initiative continues every year.

NNDKP opens its Timiºoara office.

2007: NNDKP opens its Braºov office.

The firm receives the distinction “Superbrand”.

2008: The firm launches a scholarships program open to the students of the Bucharest University Law School with exceptional results. The total amount of the scholarships is 8,000 EUR per year.

For the first time on the Romanian consultancy market, NNDKP and Link Resource sign a strategic alliance for the creation of an integrated service of consultancy in the medical and pharmaceutical industry.

NNDKP Tax Advisory Services is created, a specialized department affiliated with the law firm.

2009: NNDKP is declared by the reputed publication Chambers Europe “The Firm of the Year 2009” in Romania.

NNDKP launches the Lex Atelier workshop series.

2010: NNDKP lays the foundation of a permanent co-operation with one of the main insolvency companies, Casa de Insolvenþã Transilvania, intended to develop and consolidate both firms’ position on a developing market.
