In the context of the presidential elections, AmCham Romania revised its “Priorities for Romania” document and requested meetings to the candidates representing the main parliamentary parties in order to submit the 2009 edition of recommendations.
The first edition of the document containing recommendations put together by AmCham members within various working groups, was released in 2008 before the general elections, and handed out to the main political parties.
“Priorities for Romania” aims to provide the candidates with the vision of the business community on areas such as: taxation, labor market, education and human resources, ITC, public procurement and structural funds, healthcare, energy & environment, tourism.
During the meetings with presidential candidates so far, AmCham representatives reinforced members’ priority economic sectors for Romania, namely agriculture and food industry, energy, ICT & education, along with necessary actions to ensure a stable and predictable environment, critical for further investments.
At the same time, AmCham representatives expressed members’ availability to share their expertise through a genuine public consultation process to improve the decision-making process and adopted public policies.
