Habitat for Humanity Romania, in partnership with AmCham Romania, are announcing the launch of a communication and fund-raising campaign to help the floods-affected victims in the North part of Romania.
AmCham members are encouraged to support this humanitarian initiative, which would give affected families the means to restore their lives. AmCham, with the support of its members, was at the forefront of 2005 floods relief which contributed to the effort of Habitat to rebuild 245 houses in Comanesti and Trotus Valley. Recently, Habitat completed a 110 homes rehabilitation in Tecuci after the September 2007 flash floods.
Current reports indicate 3,000 houses destroyed and 170 villages affected, and unfortunately the natural disaster is not over yet.
