American Chamber of Commerce in Romania

START Internship Program is the largest ever educational partnership initiated by the Romanian Government through the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Education, Research and Youth, and the Ministry of Labor, Family and Equal Opportunities.

The Program is supported by business associations such as the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania), the French Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Romania, Unimpresa Romania, the Netherlands-Romanian Chamber of Commerce, The Romanian Association of Business People, The Foreign Investors Council and the German Chamber of Commerce, embassies including the United States Embassy, the British Embassy, the French Embassy, the Dutch Embassy, universities such as Universitatea Politehnica Bucuresti, Universitatea Bucuresti, ASE Bucuresti, Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University, and Romanian-American University. Major multinational companies including Coca-Cola Hellenic, Unilever, HP, IBM, Salans, Tenaris Silcotub have already confirmed commitment their participation in the Program.

The need for such an undertaking has become more and more urgent in recent years due to the onset of a significant disequilibrium on the supply side of the labor market. Although many Romanian companies incur high recruitment and training costs, productivity levels during the employees' first few years are often below expectations, an experience your company most likely shares with others on the market. The main causes are the highly theoretical content of the academic curricula and the limited opportunities for practical experience available to students in colleges and universities.

START Internship Romania Program warmly welcomes your participation in this important and unique labor market enterprise.
